My beloved cat, Sabrina, passed away on July 22, 2009. I adopted her from the Humane Society in 1997. They estimated that she was about a year old at the time. She lived to be about 13 years old.
She was a very smart kitty. She would meow when I meowed at her, and she would sometimes make a special, happy meow to greet me after she hadn't seen me in a little while, as if to say "hello!"
She loved potato chips and other salty, crunchy snacks, and whenever she heard anything that sounded like someone opening a bag of chips, she would come over and look hopefully at that person until she got a treat.
She had the most beautiful, silky fur. Her black fur was a glossy, midnight black, and her white fur was a pure, snowy white. She had green eyes, full of intelligence. Her eyes were so expressive. I could always tell how she felt.
I miss her very much. I would not be the person that I am today if not for Sabrina. She helped me to learn how important it is to connect with others. She helped me to learn compassion and gentleness. She helped me to learn not to fear or fight my emotions, but instead to let them flow freely through me.
She was a kind and gentle soul. She was such a wonderful companion. She helped guide me through my life, and I helped guide her through hers. I will never forget her.
I love you, Sabrina.
